PeopleX Attendance is equipped with geofencing, where you can create a virtual boundary around a specific area such as a workplace, job site and etc. You can then decide on the action to be taken if the employees mark their attendance out of the geofenced area.
To set up the Attendance Policy, go to Attendance Management > Attendance Policy >Clock in / out Policy where you can either:
- Disallow employees from checking in/out, OR
- Allow them to check in/out with a warning message appearing on their mobile device and an email notification being sent to their Reporting Manager
Defining the Geofencing Boundaries / Location Setup
1. Go to Attendance Location Management > Location Setup. A list of locations will be shown where you can deactivate, view, edit or delete the location accordingly.
2. Click Add Location to add a new geofencing location.
- Input a name for the specific area that needs to be geofenced and enter the description
- Click on the map icon
- Key in your address and click Enter
- You can see the map view with the location indicator, you can click on the desired location to move the location pin if required. You may also click on the location icon at the upper right corner to search again if the location is incorrect.
- Click X at the upper right corner to close the map view once done.
- You can now see that the Latitude and Longitude are generated automatically.
- Key in a readable address for the coordinates.
- Enter the Radius to determine the distance from the center of a geofenced area to its outer boundary.
- Click Add Employee and select employees that need to be tagged to this location
- Click Save once done.
Note:
You may also get the coordinates from Google Maps. Open Google Maps on your computer or mobile device. Navigate to the location you want to get the coordinates for, and right-click on the exact location you want to get the coordinates for. A small box will appear and click on the coordinates to copy and paste it in the Latitude and Longitude column respectively.
3. Click Add Employee to select employees that need to be included in the geofencing set.
** You can also setup the location or geofencing by employee at Employee Management > Employee Maintenance.
Notification email will be sent to line manager if employee check in/ out of the assigned location.
If your employee is always checking in from various location and you do not want to be notified, please do not assigned the employee to any location.
