PeopleX's Attendance with Live Location Monitoring utilizes GPS positioning technology to monitor and share real-time attendance information on a map, providing benefits such as ability to view traveled routes, accurate attendance records and improved transparency.
Enabling Live Tracking
Enabling live tracking is a simple two-step process:
1. Admin enables live tracking in the system settings
- Navigate to Attendance Policy and edit the default attendance policy.
- Ensure that the Enable Live Tracking option is selected as Yes to activate the live tracking feature and click Save.
Note:
By editing the default attendance policy, Live Location Tracking will apply to everyone in the organization. To enable live location tracking for a particular group, you need to click on Add Policy button to create a new policy.
At the Attendance Policy, ensure that the Enable Live Tracking option is selected as Yes to activate the live tracking feature and go to Target Rule to define the specific group to ensure that members of that group will be subject to live location tracking when they clock in for work.
2. Users adjust their location permissions to allow continuous tracking
Upon the first check-in after the live tracking setting is enabled, when prompted by the permission request, users must select the option to "Allow All Time" for location access. This action grants the app continuous access to the device's location, enabling uninterrupted live tracking for attendance purpose.
Even though the location permission is set to "Allow All Time," it is important to clarify that the actual tracking of location data will be limited to the duration between check-in and check-out. The system will record and monitor the user's location during their working hours but will not continue tracking once they have checked out.
Viewing the Live Location from PeopleX App
The location record can be view from mobile app easily according to the attendance view policy.
At the Attendance > Team, look for the Live Map View icon or Live Map indicator for the specific employee and click on it to display the location records.
In the live location map, you will see the location records of employees indicating by color-coded for better visualization.
- Green represents the employee's latest live location
- Red represents the employee's last checked-in/out location
If you need to search for a specific employee, you may utilized the search bar, and you may also click on the pin of a specific employee and click further on the View Route option to view their travelled routes.
Viewing the Live Location from Web Portal
The location record can be view from web portal as well according to the attendance view policy.
Navigate to Attendance Summary and go to the tab - Location Map. You will see the location records of employees that already clocked as well as the employee list on the sidebar.
If you need to search for a specific employee, you may utilized the search bar, and you may also click on the pin of a specific employee and click further on the View Route option to view their travelled routes.
